Happiness Keeps You Sweet

Inspired by my cousin's Myspace Page, I have word art and a swirly doodle to share. They are separate files and saved in psd.

Thanks for the sweet comments and feedback :-)

Johnny Downy Jr Freebie

Okay so this freebie is for 3 textured papers and an overlay inspired by two delicious photos of Johnny Depp and Robert Downey Jr. DID YOU SEE JOHNNY DEPP ON THE MTV MOVIE AWARDS? After seeing that perfect package of man walk across the stage (to a standing ovation) I was inspired. Then to top it off Robert Downy Jr was on too. Ooh I do enjoy looking at those two :-)

Thanks for stopping by & for the comments :)

Desktop Calendar Freebie!

Life has been a little un-even since Hubby left for WestPac a couple weeks back. We haven't really gotten into a routine with the kids, our home up in Washington is in escrow (fingers crossed), we are moving out of the apartment and into a HOUSE in 30 days (!) and then to top it all off, I felt like my creative mojo got on the ship with hubby LOL.

Before he left, I had arrangements with Amie at Baubles-n-Scraps to become a member of her creative team so it helped give that little push and get rolling on the layouts again. So here it is.. In celebration of becoming a member of Baubles-n-Scraps Creative Team, I have made a Desktop Calendar for June that I would like to share :) . Its saved in easy to use PSD format in 1280x1024 . All the holidays on the calendar are noted & little known celebrations like... National Chocolate Ice Cream Day, E.T. Movie Premiered in 1982, Father's Day, Go Fishing Day, and Summer Solstice.

Here's what I did with it...

Finished Pages, PSE6 Sepia Tip, & Word Art Freebie

Finished layout I completed for the Candy Jar Challenge at Digital Candy but never found the time to upload.. (Doh!)

I was looking through the pages I completed for our trip to the San Diego Zoo and thought it could use just one more.. Used template by Andrea Gold and Two Soon Coordinated Kit by Shabby Princess. Notice the sepia behind her? I really wanted to have her "pop" out of the photo and found a trick for making Sepia Toned Photos by doing this...

1. Open your image in Photoshop Elements 6.

2. If the image is in color, go to Enhance -> Adjust Color -> Remove Color and skip to step 4.

3. If the image is in gray scale go to Image -> Mode -> RGB Color.

4. Go to Enhance -> Adjust Color -> Color Variations.

5. Move the Adjust Color Intensity slider down one notch less than the middle.

6. Click on Decrease Blue once.

7. Click on Increase Red once.

8. Click OK.

Photo taken of my husband and I at our baby shower for the twins. I was 24 weeks in this photo and it was exactly one month later that the twins were born. At first we thought 24 weeks was early for a baby shower but boy were we glad when the twins decided to make and early arrival :) Used the stunning elements and kit Avril chez Digi Scrapbook.

Finally the layout that inspired my word art freebie... Photo taken of my sister and I after a great lunch in Little Italy (San Diego, CA). Used Tangie Baxter's Merry Springtime kit, the RAKscraps freebie for April.

So now for the freebie...Download it here.

WOW! I think that's it (lol).
Thanks for stopping by :-)

Wrapped up like a gift...

Layout made for the Get Lyrical with Lori Challenge on Digital Candy

The picture I used is of my twins in the NICU. I knew exactly what picture I wanted to use as soon as I read/hear the lyrics to the Sarah McLachlan song Ordinary Miracle.

Credits-Grungy Paper and Journal Element- Redjuscrap, Doodles by Baubles n' Scraps. I made the WordArt/Overlay to use with this challenge. Font used for journaling is Avant Que.

Journaling reads..
Our twin babies arrived 12 weeks early on October 24th 2004. Frankie was first weighing in at a mere 2lbs 6oz, 16 minutes later her bother Dwight arrived weighing 2lbs 12oz. After many NICU milestones, they were ready to go home. Frankie was ready to go home after 46 days and 8 days later Dwight was ready to come home too. Just in time for our first Christmas together. We couldnt have wished for more.

I've been busy...

Both these layouts were made using Baubles n' Scraps Harmony Girl kit and Delicate Doodles. Font used is Willing Grace. The top pic is a pic I took of my Daughter when she finally pulled herself up to see me, so cute I was just waiting with the camera. The second layout is a picture of my Daughter taking her first nap (on her Daddy) after she was discharged from the NICU and the second pic is of her and my husband taking an afternoon nap on the couch two years later.

On a Roll...

Thanks a ton to Racketty Scrappety for the phenomenal template! I was able to finish another layout! This is my 1st TWO PAGER! Credits are once again to Shabby Princess' Two Cute Coordinated Kit. Font used is "It Ain't Rocket Science"

Word Art & Completed Page

Hey all :-) Here is a word art freebie for ya. It was inspired by Robert Lopshire's Put Me in the Zoo. Published way back in "1960" Wow 1960! You might want to remember that number. It was one of my favorite books as a child and I was born in the mid 70s! Truly a classic in my book.
Download here. Password 1960

Here is my second completed scrapbook page for our trip to the San Diego Zoo. I used Shabby Princess' Two Soon Coordinated Kit, (just like David's) and this time I used a template from Racketty Scrappety for the layout, (with some light adjustments as my mojo guided). :-)

I have to admit I had buckets of good intentions to scrapbook (traditional or digital) but I never really had the inspiration to actually DO IT. But now that I've got this blog and have figured out how to share my own freebies, it really has helped. More than I could have imagined. I have finished so many pages in such a short amount of time. Thanks for helping me accomplish my goals, Ladies!

Been MIA but I come back with goodies :-)

Have I told you how much I love being in San Diego? We were up in the great Northwest for our last duty station and I am SO HAPPY to be back in SD. There is nothing like 70 degrees and soaking up sunshine & Vitamin D in spring. We took the kids to the "World Famous San Diego Zoo" last Friday. What a beautiful day! I am sorry if I am boasting but after 3 years of rain & poor weather I am happy for every ray of sunshine :-)

I have a freebie template for you and a sneak peek at my very first kit that I will be sharing here very soon. :-)

Don't you think things look better in "threes"? Me too. In fact that may come in handy when it comes to downloading this freebie.

Here's a layout made with my very first DigiKit! I named it "Plaid Hat" and I'm not sure exactly if I am finished with it but I couldnt help but share the picture that inspired it and a layout I made..

And here it is my friends... my VERY 1st template to share... wow. I cant believe how much I've thrown myself into this! Link to download below and password to unlock above.

Here's my take on Template 001...

Why the downloads are not working...

Please read the following emails...

Thanks so much for e-mailing me! I wanted to send you this information because I want to save you some trouble in the future.

Your layouts are so cute and you're really talented I'm very flattered that you used my frame in your layout. What I think you need to understand is that without designer permission for commercial use and distribution, what you are doing is considered piracy. I'm so sorry to be so blunt, but those are the facts.

You're using products from some very well-known designers and what you're doing is basicallly taking something they've created and possibly offered as a freebie to promote their products and you're creating your own product. Whether you offer it for sale or as a freebie, you're repackaging and distributing a product that you don't have the rights to.

My TOUs state (as most designer TOUs state) that: "The files in this archive may be modified or altered to suit your needs (color, size, etc.) You may not offer them in any other collection or individually for personal or commercial use." The necessity of giving credit that you referred to in your comments was for original layouts you have created for your own use that you show publicly on your blog or in galleries. Where you are wrong is when you remove your pictures and offer your layouts containing copyrighted designs for the use of others as a freebie.

To make sure I was correct on this issue I posted a thread in the designer forum at the stores where I sell and I received immediate response from many designers who vehemently agreed that this is piracy and encouraged me to contact you and let you know before you get in copyright trouble.

I'm not trying to attack you at all....I just realize that you're new to the industry and obviously don't understand.

I'd be happy to answer any questions you may have regarding this and hope you accept this information in the spirit it was intended.

Amie
Baubles-n-Scraps

No problem! Thanks for sitting me down and explaining the TOUs to me. I am sorry I didn't see clearly that I was breaking them and I feel ashamed that I needed a more elementary explanation. I am truly sorry. I will remove the unauthorized material tonight.

Thanks for the help,
~Steph
NavyMamaScraps

In Short... there are no hard feelings and rules are rules. I'm just sorry I didn't fully understand them to begin with. I will however have my own designs to share from time to time and layouts that I've put together to share, (including my Easter Album) that I will clearly explain and give credit to the artist and their beautiful work so that you may recreate the layouts yourself (by following links over to their sites :-)

Thanks for all the warm welcomes to the community and I hope that this blemish doesn't scar too bad.

Take Care,
I have 3 tired toddlers that NEED to get to bed...

David in Jeans

Here's what I worked on this morning. Great freebie from MommyScraps!

I couldnt help but put it together LOL. My "baby" just standing there in his undershirt and jeans, looking too cool for words. I was able to snap one pic (out of focus) without him noticing the camera. As soon as I snapped the 1st pic he quickly turned into "cheese" mode and this is the 2nd shot.

Easter on the Beach and a Freebie Quick Page

Alright, just in case you haven't noticed I am attempting to put together an album with Shabby Princess's Promise Kit (its a Freebie on her site) all about our Easter with Family up in Orange County. It was truly a beautiful day! I cant tell you how great it was to actually make it to the beach in shorts and short sleeves on in MARCH! We just moved down to San Diego in December after being up in the great northwest for nearly 4 years and I still haven't got used to the weather, and not in a bad way. Gotta Love SD!

So here's what I got for ya.. A quick page I made with a Template by Andrea Gold and Shabby Princess' Promise Kit its a layered 12x12 quickpage so all you have to do is insert your pics and print away!

My Little Miss

Wow thanks for the warm welcome to the Digiscrap Blog world! It really brightened my day to read all your comments, :-)

So here I am sharing a layout I threw together with the help of a quick page freebie that I found at Artistic Musings. The dress I made for her, and I was soooo proud of it, too bad kids grow like weeds and she wasn't able to wear it longer :)
